Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DayCompress ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

DayCompress is a voice journaling application that allows you to record spoken journal entries, which are transcribed on your device using speech recognition technology. All data is stored locally on your device.

Use of the App

You may use DayCompress for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks

Intellectual Property

DayCompress and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Afterimage Software and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy or reliability of speech recognition
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all devices

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL AFTERIMAGE SOFTWARE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or journal entries
  • Device malfunction
  • Transcription errors
  • Any other damages arising from use of the App

Your Data

You are solely responsible for:

  • Backing up your journal entries (via the Export feature)
  • The content of your journal entries
  • Maintaining the security of your device

Speech Recognition

The App uses on-device speech recognition technology. We do not guarantee:

  • Perfect transcription accuracy
  • Recognition of all accents or speech patterns
  • Continuous availability of the speech recognition feature

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling will permanently delete all locally stored data.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
